Introduction
The subject proposes a methodological approach to two different profile and scale casuists but linked by the need for short- and medium-term rehabilitation intervention.
On the one hand, the problem of large residential buildings built during the years of strong growth in metropolitan environments (1950–1975) is addressed. Generally speaking, today they have major dysfunctions in the social order, in the public space and in the functional and energy conditions of buildings that require interventions on different scales. The subject proposes the visit and analysis of some of these sets and practical work that addresses the resolution of some of the issues mentioned.
On the other hand, it also deals with the specific situation of contemporary historical or obsolete industrial areas. Buildings that have survived multiple circumstances due to their great adaptability and often require transformations or adaptation to new functions.
